Location Description

    Palmerston North is the transport hub of the central North Island with extensive air ( both International and National), road and rail links servicing both our resident/tourist as well as our commercial industrial needs. Palmerston North Airport is noted for its excellent record for all weather operation.

    With the richly fertile Rangitikei Plains rising to the ski fields of the central plateau to the North, bordered to the West by rolling surf beaches, and to the East by the winter snow-capped Ruahine and Tararua Ranges, the Manawatu Region abounds with scenic and recreational activities.

    With a population of 73,000 Palmerston North is a vibrant and youthful city combining education and technology, with the excitement and facilities of city life - a city reputed to have the highest number of restaurants, cafe bars and eateries per capita in all of New Zealand!

    New developments and the restructuring of the New Zealand Defence Forces is foreshadowing major expansions at nearby Linton Army Base and Ohakea Air Force Base bringing increased business opportunities to the area.

    Attractions

    The New Zealand Rugby Museum covers the history of rugby in New Zealand and has a fine collection of memorabilia.

    The Ohakea Airforce Museum, 20 minutes west of Palmerston North on State Highway 3, offers interactive displays and a chance to see the airforce in action.

    The Victoria Esplanade Gardens have a conservatory, aviaries, nature trails, and an adventure playground and miniature scenic railway.
